PSG vs Riyadh All-Star XI: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo Fan Pays $2.6 Million For VIP Ticket To Watch Lionel Messi And Cristiano Ronaldo.
Two are considered one of the greatest football players of all time, and one fan is paying big bucks to see what could be their last encounter.
A Saudi Arabian real estate magnate reportedly paid $2.6 million for VIP tickets to a match between Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain and Ronaldo’s team, which included players from Al Nassr and Al Hilal. The exhibition will be held on Thursday at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
It will mark the Saudi Pro League debut for the 37-year-old Ronaldo, who signed a $75 million-a-year contract with Al Nassr late last month. To generate excitement for the match, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment Turki Al-Sheikh announced a charity auction for “Beyond Imagination” tickets.
This ticket will allow the winning fan to attend the opening ceremony, access the team locker rooms and meet players such as Ronaldo, Messi and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe. Bidding for a Beyond Imagination ticket reportedly started at 1 million Saudi riyals ($266,000) before closing at 10 million riyals ($2.6 million).
Ronaldo will begin his tenure with Al Nasser following an acrimonious divorce from Manchester United. On 22 November, the English Premier League club terminated Ronaldo’s contract shortly after the five-time Ballon d’Or winner accused the team of cheating in a television interview. Manchester United described the decision as mutual, however, with the club thanking Ronaldo for his immense contribution during his two spells at Old Trafford (2003–09, 2021–22).
